Dinner set for Shonto officials

The Inaugural Dinner for the newly elected officials will be held at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9 in the Shonto Government Building (down in the Canyon), at Shonto. Officers include President Jones Grass, Vice President Jonathan Nez; Secretary/Treasure Robert Black Jr. and Grazing Representative Betty Dodson The public is invited. Youth art for poster project

Native American for Community Actions Inc. (NACA) has a youth outpatient substance abuse program, Ray of Hope (Project Sihisin Bil Adidiin). The program is seeking art from youth, ages 12-17, for its brochure and poster. There will be an award for the winner and incentives for all participants. Please submit art by Jan. 28 to NACA, 2717 N. Steve’s Blvd, Suite 11 here in Flagstaff (in the Pueblo Plaza across from Circle K). NASA Focus Group on Rez

ArtReach is working with NASA to find ways to inspire youth living on reservations to study aerospace and work with NASA. Representatives of science centers, museums, planetariums, libraries, parks, nature centers, botanical gardens, youth groups, schools and community-based organizations are needed to participate in a focus group Jan. 26-28 in Window Rock.
