Congratulates students on their academic progress

Tolani Lake Elementary School Academy (TLESA) uses a number of diagnostic instruments to continually monitor student learning. Continual monitoring of and reporting of student progress to students and parents is a fundamental goal of TLESA.

At mid-year, TLESA students demonstrated an eight-month gain, which is higher than the projected.75 gain at mid-year. TLESA has a goal of 1.5 years academic gain for the 2004-05 school year.

TLESA students come here with experience from many schools on or near the Navajo Nation, and on the pre-assessment this year scored lower than the grade level in which they are enrolled and promoted from other schools. Thus, TLESA has set a goal of 1.5 years gain to help students catch up, over time, to be at grade level and experience success now and motivation for continued learning.

TLESA is excited that the students are progressing over expectations. Congratulations, TLESA students, for exceeding the goal. Keep it up!
