“I was excited for our cadets,” Maj. Taylor said. “This was a once in a lifetime achievement. It was the first time and last time for this type of activity where all the tribes are together.”

Maj. Taylor said the Hopi High cadets had a chance to talk with people from the other tribes. He added that the Hopi High cadets did a good job of representing the high school.

Lewis said the procession was awesome.

“It was done very well. It was awesome to see all the tribes there,” he said.

The students were letdown because they did not have tickets to get inside and see the museum. Lewis said he was fortunate to have a ticket to get inside and was among the second group to get in.

Mark Lewis, president of the Hopi Jr/Sr High School Governing Board, agreed that the students were impressive in representing the high school.

“They were absolutely great and I spent some time chatting with them and having pictures taken with them,” he said. “I could tell that Maj. Taylor and the cadets were impressed and excited to be there. It was great to see the cadets representing Hopi High and the Hopi Tribe in their uniforms. This should be pleasing to the community.”
