Joe City beats ‘Lopes<br>

The Joseph City Wildcats remained undefeated by thrashing the Seligman Antelopes 50-8 in a 1A Conference football game played at Joseph City on Friday. The win left the Wildcats with a perfect 3-0 record and dropped Seligman to 2-2 for the season with one game’s score not reported.

The Wildcats established their dominance early and ran up a 26-0 first quarter lead. Seligman got on the scoreboard in the second quarter but still trailed 38-8 at the intermission.

Joseph City scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and the game was halted due to the 42 point mercy rule in effect in 1A and 2A football games after the second score.

The Wildcats will host the Bagdad Sultans on Friday. Bagdad has won one game, lost one and had two games in which the scores were not reported. The Sultans lost to Orme 40-14 after a contest with the Mogollon Mustangs went unreported. Bagdad then defeated the Canyon State Spartans 77-50. The game on Friday between Bagdad and St. Michaels was also not reported.
