Women’s Club wins accolades

The Winslow Women’s Club garnered four awards at its state convention in Tempe.

The awards included a first place for public affairs-Special Projects, and a second in each of the following categories: International Affairs-Special Projects, Women’s financial Information and Conservation/Beautification.

The local chapter began in 1923 when it became affiliated with General Federation of Women’s clubs, an international service organization. Prior to that, local women’s groups have roots into the late 1800s.

Ladies interested in finding out more about the club and its local impact are invited to attend the upcoming meeting on Sept 18. Brunch will be served, but seating may be limited.
