GED community grad ceremony

The 12th annual Northern Arizona Community GED Graduation Ceremony will be held on 6 p.m. Friday, June 4 at the Coconino Community College Lone Tree Campus. This ceremony is for anyone who has ever earned a GED, no matter where or when. Refreshments follow the ceremony.

This event is co-sponsored by Coconino Community College Native American for Community Action, Flagstaff Unified School District, and Coconino County Adult Education. To reserve a cap and gown and get free invitations to give to guests, graduates should call the NAU LEARN Center at 928-523-3182.

Final Benefit Song & Dance

Everyone’s welcome to the 14th annual Final Benefit Social Song and Dance. The emcee is Roger Manuelito and is hosted by the Nataani Nez Travelers. It is sponsored by the Western Navajo Social Song and Dance Committee. The event will be held on Saturday, May 29 at the Parish Hall in the Tuba City Catholic Church in Tuba City.

Registration is at 10 a.m. (DST) and Grand Entry is at 12 p.m. Cash awards go to long distance travelers, and various item awards to dancers. Grocery awards go to the singers and surprise awards for original group singers. There will be raffles, concessions, door prizes and a cakewalk. Any donations are appreciated.
