Winslow High School athletes and fans made a swift change of focus as the basketball teams wrapped up their quest for state titles in Phoenix over the weekend and baseball, softball and track teams began competition.

The baseball and softball teams were in action on Tuesday at Holbrook. Both are involved in tournaments this weekend. The baseball team will be at the Mohave Invitational Tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The softball team will defend the title it won last year in Parker Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

The track teams will open their seasons today (March 3) by hosting a four-team meet that includes teams from Holbrook, Snowflake and Show Low. The Winslow teams will participate in the Canyon State Invitational at Queen Creek on Friday.

Next week, the track teams will host Blue Ridge and Snowflake on Wednesday, March 10 and participate in the Ray Relays at Kearny on Saturday, March 13.

The baseball and softball teams will return from their respective tournaments to host Round Valley on Tuesday, March 9 and Snowflake on Thursday, March 11. Both will play double-headers at Fountain Hills on Saturday, March 13.
