Bulldogs Have 10 Regular Season Football Games in 2004

The Winslow Bulldogs will play 10 regular season football games in the 2004 season.

Winslow has played nine games in a regular season for many years now, certainly since the team joined the 3A North Region.

The change came about when a request from Coach Matt Gracey and Athletic Director Don Petranovich to make the scrimmage scheduled for August 27 with Camp Verde into a regular season game.

Winslow will hold a pre-season controlled scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 20 with the time, date, locale and opponent to be determined.

The regular season will open the next Friday, Aug. 27, at Camp Verde. The Camp Verde Cowboys will be the first of three non-conference opponents Winslow will face and the only one from the 3A West Region.

The Snowflake Lobos of the 3A East Region will be Winslow’s first home opponent on Friday, Sept. 3.

The Lobos were one of only two teams to defeat the Bulldogs last season, the other being the Arizona 3A Conference Champion Show Low Cougars in the state semi-finals.

Another 3A East Region arch-rival will end the non-conference segment of the schedule.
