Holbrook Roadrunners 79 <br>Winslow Bulldogs 77

The Holbrook Roadrunners nipped the Winslow Bulldogs 79-77 in a non-conference basketball game played at Winslow on Nov. 25. The game was the season opener for both teams.

The lead changed hands throughout the game with Holbrook prevailing when the final buzzer sounded. Winslow led 20-14 after the first period, but held only a slim 35-34 advantage at the intermission. Holbrook had a two-point lead after three periods at 61-59. Both teams scored 18 points in the final period and the Roadrunners won by that two- point margin.

Shawn Begay led all scorers with 26 points for Winslow. All but two of his total came on eight three-point shots. Trevor Cantrell with 12 points, Jeremy Taliman with 11 and Orlando Vargas with 10 were also in double figures for the Bulldogs.

Olajuwan Pusher led Holbrook with 21 points. Olen Hatch with 13 points, Chris Castillo with 12 and Jerickson Jackson and Nick Perkins with 11 points all scored in double figures for the Roadrunners.

Holbrook benefited from excellent free throw shooting by converting 10 of 12 attempts. Winslow was only three for nine from the charity stripe.

Three-point shooting favored the Bulldogs who hit 10 from behind the arch, eight by Begay. Holbrook had six three pointers.
