Mom’s homecoming fulfills youngster’s Xmas wish <br>
“There is nothing more important to a child than to see a smile on his mother’s face,” Dr. Tahu said. “The entire Tuba City District is happy that D’Angelo is in our school at Dzil Libei and was able to take phone calls from his mother through their supportive Principal Lorna Lewis and her staff.
“We wish Sgt. Christine Porter a happy return home for the Christmas Holidays and may her homecoming be a time to remember for both of them.”
Sgt. Porter will be home for a brief two weeks, then will return to active service, but she said in a phone interview on Dec. 23, that she “can’t wait until her final two months of active duty will be over and she can really come home to be with D’Angelo.”
She also said that D’Angelo first words to her when she got off the plane were, “Mommy, you’re finally back!”
Sgt. Porter said their finals plans, once she returns to the United States, will include her and D’Angelo both moving back to Texas, where they have lived since he was born.
