Anthony Edwards, former Arizona Cardinal, to speak in Winslow

Anthony Edwards was a feared receiver and return man for the Arizona Cardinals during his NFL career. He continues to work with the team in community relations. He is also an ordained minister and devotes much of his time and effort to practicing and sharing his faith and will be in Winslow on Saturday to address Christian men in Winslow on the topic, “Are you the man God wants you to be?”

Edwards will speak at the First Baptist Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The event is sponsored by the Harvest Men’s Fellowship of the Church of God in Christ Faith Temple. Men from the community are invited and encouraged to attend and hear the challenge that Edwards will present.

This will not be the first appearance in Winslow by the former NFL star. Edwards spoke at the Faith Temple in 2002 and also spoke to an assembly of students at Winslow High School.

He was well received by both audiences.

Edwards is a native of Casa Grande and a 1984 graduate of Casa Grande Union High School. He played college football at New Mexico Highlands University.

Edwards played for two years with the Philadelphia Eagles and eight seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
