Blankets for Sweat Lodges
Native American for Community Actions Inc. (NACA) has a youth outpatient substance abuse program that provides outpatient counseling services to Native American youth ages 12-17 and their families. The program includes Talking Circle, Sweat Lodges and cultural activities. Sweat Lodges for NACA registered youth begin in January in collaboration with Northland Family Help Center. NACA is in dire need of blankets, tarp and canvas for the Sweat Lodges. Wool army blankets are preferred, but any blankets will be appreciated. Please donate the blankets, tarp or canvas to NACA, Ray of Hope Project, 2717 N. Steve’s Blvd, Suite 11 here in Flagstaff. NACA is located in the Pueblo Plaza across from Circle K. New Year’s Eve event
Rae’s New Year’s Eve Song & Dance Celebration will be held at St. Jude’s Parish Hall in Tuba City on Friday, Dec. 31. All group singers, dancers and spectators are welcome. Hope to see you all there. There will be concessions, door prize, raffles, games, jackpot dancing and lots of awards. The Host Group is the Sweetwater Travelers from Water Flo, N. M. Emcee is Guy Lee. Apache County Dignitaries
The Swearing in Ceremony for Apache County Supervisor Jim Claw and Apache County Sheriff Brian Hounshell will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3 in the Chinle Community Center, Chinle.
