New Year’s Song & Dance

A New Year’s Day Song & Dance will be held Saturday, Jan. 1 in the Tolani Lake Elementary School gym. Registration is from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., with the Grand Entry at noon. Host Group is District 5 Song & Dance Committee. Masters of ceremony are Bill McCabe and Norman Yazzie. Concessions, raffle, cakewalk and door prizes included. Groceries will be awarded to group singers and dancers. All donations are appreciated.

Documentary on meth use

A screening of the documentary film “Methamphetamine on the Navajo Nation” will be held 6 p.m. Jan. 6 in the multi-purpose room at Jeddito Public School in Keams Canyon. Fund-raising dance in Leupp

The Original Fenders will provide the music at a fund-raising country/western dance at Leupp Schools Inc. on Friday, Dec. 24 from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. in the school gym. All proceeds go to a special education kindergarten through sixth grade field trip.

Vets benefit workshop

A Federal Benefit Workshop for Veterans and Dependents continues 8 a.m.-5 p.m. today (Dec. 22) at Radisson Woodlands Hotel in Flagstaff. All veterans and Iraq returnees are invited. Lunch will be provided at noon for veterans and their families. For more information, call 928-283-3030/3029.
