The Winslow Little League 13-14-year old girls’ softball team lost to Blue Ridge in the district finals in Taylor. The team was awarded for its great performance during the double-elimination playoffs, which included erasing an eight run defecit in a come-from-behind win.
Coach Wilma Anaya said the entire team “played outsatnding.”
“Christina Rogers was hurt almost every game but weas in there playing as hard as she could,” Anaya said.
“Gypsi Gover was very versitile and was willing to play anywhere we put her.
“Chanel Renfro had an all-around great performance.”
The team finished 3-2 in the tournament, Coaches Paul and Wilma Anaya led the girls with help from assistant Charles Gover.
