The Winslow Bulldogs remained undefeated in the 3A North Region with an easy 51-0 win over the Pinon Eagles in Winslow on Friday. The Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in the region and 3-1 for the season.
Orlando Vargas opened the scoring with a 20 yard run early in the contest.
He also scored on a four yard pass from Jeremiah Johnson later in the game.
Adrian Smith scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 29 yard run. He closed out the scoring with a 20 yard run.
Lucas Armenta scored three touchdowns. The first was a 67 yard punt return.
The second was a 54 yard run and the third was on a 37 yard pass from
Johnson. Mark Spencer booted a 28 yard field goal and the Bulldogs scored a safety on a bad snap.
Winslow will face its most serious challenge in the 3A North Region to date on Friday when they confront the Ganado Hornets in Ganado.
The Hornets entered their last game as heavy favorites over the Greyhills Knights .(No score was available at press time.) Ganado had defeated Alchesay 22-6, lost to Camp Verde 17-0 and waltzed past Monument Valley 47-6 in their first regional challenge.
