Avalon Quartet performs student compositions <br>

Hoffman said it’s great for the student composers to see their work performed in front of an audience.

“It’s important for the student composers to talk to the quartet and tell them how to play so the quartet understands what the composer is trying to express,” she said.

Student composers from Kayenta’s Monument Valley High School and Tuba City High School also participated in the student composer apprenticeship project.

The event kicked off at Grand Canyon National Park before performances at Tuba City High School, Greyhills High School, Tuba City Boarding School, Monument Valley High School, Chilchinbeto Day School, Second Mesa Day School and Hopi Junior/Senior High School.
