Piestewa family expresses gratitude

The family and friends of Lori Anne Piestewa would like to express our gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers. We would like to thank all those individuals who have opened their hearts and arms to our family in wishing Lori a speedy and safe return home. We cannot express enough how your prayers and love have provided our family with hope.

As of this past week, Lori’s current status remains at Missing In Action.

We continue, along with the Tuba City and Moencopi communities, to believe that she and her fellow servicemen and women will be found safe and returned to their families. We are asking that you continue your prayers for all the brave men and women of the Armed Services and that you pray for their families as well.

If you are wondering what you can do to keep the faith, we would suggest contacting your local resources to see what can be done for all United States service personnel around the world. The Piestewa family is making 6:00 p.m. MST each day a time for prayer and unity. We ask that you take this time with your families, regardless of ethnic and religious affiliation to pray in your own very special way to send strength, guidance and love to our sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers and aunts and uncles serving at this time.

The Piestewa family would like again to express our gratitude for your prayers and the support we have received from our special community and from all the people who continue to pray for peace.

We also thank the media and news organizations that have respected our privacy at this difficult time.

We love you Lori. Come home soon!
