Hopi Tribe welcomes Navajo veterans
Kykotsmovi – The Native American Vietnam Veterans Group was greeted at the seat of the Hopi Tribal Government by Chairman Wayne Taylor, Jr. and the entire Tribal Council.
Representatives of the group left their hometown of Tuba City early Wednesday morning, March 26, and marched through several communities before reaching Kykotsmovi. The Native American Vietnam Veterans Group (NAVVG) was en-route to Window Rock, the capitol of the Navajo Nation, for a meeting the following day with President Joe Shirley, Jr. and Vice President Frank Dayish, Jr., where they sought a proclamation of support for Navajo servicemen and women serving in Iraq.
