Ladies move to 13-0 after week’s play

The Winslow Lady Bulldogs defeated the Snowflake Lady Lobos 3-2 in a non-conference softball game played in Snowflake on Wednesday.
Daphne Barton won for the seventh time in as many outings with a brilliant, three-hit performance. She had seven strike-outs and no walks.
Erica Armenta, who scored all three Winslow runs, led off the game with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Amanda Wilcox. JoDawn White also doubled in the frame but that hit did not figure in the scoring.
Nicole Curnutte led off the third with a single, but was cut down at third after Armenta’s single. Armenta then scored on Wilcox’s single to give Winslow a 2-0 lead.
Snowflake struck back in the bottom of the third when the Lady Lobos bunched two of their hits to score one and cut the margin to 2-1.
Singles by Armenta and Joanna Panana plated Winslow’s final run in the top of the fifth. The run scored on a fielder’s choice on a ball hit by Wilcox who drove in all three Winslow runs.
Snowflake completed the scoring in the bottom of the sixth on a single and two Winslow errors.
Curnutte led the hit parade with a three for three day. Armenta was three for four and scored all three of her team’s runs. Panana was two for four. White, Arsenia Pacheco and Tessa Ramsey were all one for three. Wilcox was two for four with three RBI’s.
