WJHS football teams open against Joseph City<br>

The Winslow Junior High School football teams will open the 2002 season against teams from Joseph City on Thursday.

The seventh and eighth grade teams will play the first of six games with one team playing at home and the other away.

The Winslow eighth grade team will be at home on Thursday while the seventh graders will play at Joseph City. Both games are slated for 3:30 p.m. kick-offs.

Scott Corum and Don Nelson coach the WJHS eight grade team. Tim Rose and Judd Steiner coach the seventh grade team.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, Winslow will play Round Valley with the eighth grade teams meeting in Eagar and the seventh grade teams playing at Winslow with both games slated to start at 3:30 p.m.

Winslow teams will play Holbrook at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday the 18th. The eighth grade teams will meet in Winslow and the seventh in Holbrook.

Winslow will play Mogollon on Thursday, Sept. 26. The eighth grade will play at Heber and he seventh grade at Winslow with both games beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The WJHS teams will play Snowflake on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m.

The eighth grade teams will play in Snowflake with the seventh grade squads meeting in Winslow.

The final games of the season will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m. The eighth grade teams will play in Winslow and the seventh grade squads at St. Johns.
