Bulldogs take Ganado 56-0 in Homecoming contest

Martinez passed 36 yards to Lucas Armenta who made a brilliant move to get into the end zone. Orlando Vargas ran for the two-point conversion. Martinez ran two yards for the final score of the second quarter and sent the Bulldogs to the locker room with a 40-0 half-time lead.

Vargas scored the first touchdown of the second half on a 22-yard run. Horn ran eight yards for an apparent score that was nullified by a penalty. Martinez passed five yards to Quezada for the final touchdown of the game. Vargas converted and Winslow took a 53-0 lead into the final period.

The Bulldogs toyed with the Hornets in the fourth period. Vargas booted a 32-yard field goal on a first down play for the only points of the quarter.

The Winslow defense never allowed the Hornets to mount a threat and kept the pressure on all night. Bone crushing tackles by John Sullivan, Brian and Brandon Mitchell, Brandon Guzman, Herschel Clark and Lucas Armenta were the order of the day.

The Winslow freshmen continued their winning ways with a 46-6 win over Ganado on Thursday in Ganado. The junior varsity lost to Ganado 26-10.

Winslow will meet the Monument Valley Mustangs at Kayenta at 6 p.m. on Friday.
