Bulldog volleyball earned trip to state

The Winslow girls came from a 14-12 deficit to defeat Window Rock 16-14 in the first game of the match. The Lady Bulldogs had to fight off a number of game point serves to stay alive in one of the best volleyball games one could hope to see. Eventually, Winslow rallied to score four unanswered points and take the lead in the set. Window Rock came back to win the second game 15-5, but Winslow won the decisive third game and the match 15-6. Window Rock had defeated Greyhills in an earlier match to earn its shot at the Lady Bulldogs.

Holbrook defeated Tuba City in an earlier match to win a berth in the state tournament and the right to meet regular season league champion Monument Valley in Window Rock on Saturday. Winslow, Ganado, Holbrook and Monument Valley will represent the 3A North Region in the state tournament. The action in Window Rock on Saturday decided the regional champion and seeding for the state tournament.
