Winslow Track Teams Fourth At Winslow Invitational
The Winslow High School boys’ and girls’ track teams both finished fourth in the 21-team Winslow Invitational Track Meet held on April 26. Snowflake won the boys’ meet with 83.5 points to 72 for North Canyon, 68.5 for Flagstaff and 63 for Winslow. North Canyon won the girls’ meet with 220 points to 98 for Payson and 88 for Flagstaff. Winslow finished fourth with 74 points.
Stephanie Garnett garnered first places in the 100 meters and the long jump and finished fifth in the 200 meters.
Anthony Carter was first in the 100 meters, third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump.
Jenna Adams was second in the long jump and the triple jump.
Heidi Meryl was second in the 200 meters.
Nick Patton was second in the pole vault.
Jackie Foster was third in the shot put and the discus.
Steve Hancock was third in the 800 meters and seventh in the 1600 meters.
Billy Wilcox was fourth in the 1600 meters.
Katie Koll was fifth in the pole vault.
Mark Rostedt was sixth in the 800 meters.
Jimmy Curnutte was seventh in the shot put.
Lawrence Watson was seventh in the 3200 meters.
Heather Johnson was seventh in the 3200 meters.
Joanna Black was seventh in the 800 meters.
The Winslow girl’s 400-meter relay team won its event. The boys 3200-meter and the girl’s 1600-meter relay teams finished second. The boys 400 meter relay team finished third. The girls 3200-meter and the boy’s 1600-meter relay teams finished sixth.
