The Winslow Bulldogs won the Enchantment Region regular season championship with a 10-0 victory over Holbrook in Winslow on Saturday. Winslow also claimed a 16-2 win over Greyhills in Tuba City on Thursday and finished the season undefeated in regional play at 6-0. The Bulldogs were 15-10 for the season.
At Greyhills, Joseph Sanchez had three doubles in three trips to the plate to lead the offensive attack. Michael Beeson was also three for three with a double. Steve Martinez was two for four.
Jorge Sander limited Holbrook to only five hits in the shutout victory on Saturday and was three for three at the plate with a home run. Lucas Armenta was two for two with a home run and a triple. Lyle Brown and Martinez were two for three.
Winslow will play next in the semi-final round of the Enchantment Region Tournament on Friday in Holbrook. The Bulldogs have qualified for the Arizona State 3A Championship Tournament and will play their first game in that tournament on May 3 at the Peoria Sports Complex.
