Beeson in Fabulous Fifty Game on Father’s Day

Winslow High School graduate Michael Beeson will participate in the Fabulous Fifty Baseball Game on Sunday, June 16 at Bank One Ballpark. The Father’s Day game will follow the regularly scheduled Major League game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Detroit Tigers. That game is slated to start at 1:35 p.m.

Beeson, an outfielder at Winslow High School, is one of 32 senior players selected by coaches following the Arizona Baseball Coaches Association All Star Games. Sixteen players were selected for each team. Nine players were then selected at large to complete two 25-player rosters. Other players from 3A Conference teams include third baseman Ty Bradley of Payson, shortstop Toby Elkins of Blue Ridge and pitcher Doug Mathis of Show Low.

The game will be a nine-inning contest. Fans who have purchased a ticket to the Diamondbacks-Tigers game will be allowed to attend. Winslow High School Coach Art Griffith has some tickets for sale. Two dollars of the proceeds from those $11 tickets will go to the Arizona Baseball Coaches Association. The upper two tiers of Bank One Ballpark will be closed for cleaning and seating for the Fabulous Fifties Game will be “open seating” in the lower deck.
