Winslow Triumphs Over Payson

Winslow 61 – Payson 47

The Winslow Bulldogs defeated the Payson Longhorns 61-47 in a non-conference basketball game played at Payson on Jan. 8. Winslow improved its record to 9-5 for the season and 4-0 in the Enchantment Region.

Evander Lee led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Seth Davis and Bryan Curtis each scored 13 for the victors. Payson did not have a player in double digits.

The Bulldogs established dominance early and led 23-8 after the first period and 34-17 at the intermission.

The Winslow Lady Bulldogs defeated the Payson Lady Longhorns 50-26 in a non-conference basketball game played in Payson on Jan. 8.

The victory left Winslow with a record of 9-5 for the season and 4-0 in the Enchantment Region.

Faith Carpenter led all scorers with 18 points for Winslow.

Ashli Herrera was in double digits for Payson with 11 points.

The Lady Bulldogs led 14-4 after the first quarter and by a commanding 29-10 at the intermission.
