The Winslow Lady Bulldogs defeated the Window Rock Lady Scouts 52-47 in an Enchantment Region basketball game played in Winslow on Friday. The victory left the Lady Bulldogs with a perfect 5-0 record in the region and a 10-5 record for the season.
Faith Carpenter led a trio of Winslow players in double figure scoring with 14 points. Lexine Jensen tallied 12 points and Nicole Begaii added 11 for the Lady Bulldogs. Kelly Willie contributed eight points.
Roberta Haskie scored over half of Window Rock’s total with 32 points. Only three other Lady Scouts broke into the scoring column and none with more than six points.
Winslow scored three points in the closing seconds of the first period to take a 19-12 lead. Haskie scored the first six points of the second quarter to cut that margin to 19-18, but picked up her third foul and went to the bench moments later. Winslow ran off 10 straight points and led 29-18 at the intermission. The Lady Bulldogs lead was 20 at 44-24 after three periods. Window Rock scored 23 points in the fourth period, but never caught the victorious Lady Bulldogs.

The Winslow Bulldogs defeated the Window Rock Scouts 65-51 in an Enchantment Region basketball game played in Winslow on Friday. The Bulldogs improved their regional record to a perfect 5-0 and their season record to 10-5 with the victory.
Evander Lee led the Bulldogs with 12 points. Seth Davis was also in double figures with 10 points. Manuelito Shirley scored nine and Reed Hancock had eight points as the Bulldogs displayed a balanced scoring attack.
Terrell Dawes led all scorers with 19 points for Window Rock. Asa-Ryan Begaye and John Huyser each scored 10 to finish in double figures for the Scouts.
The game was tied at 17-17 after the first period, but Winslow pulled ahead for good in the second period and led 36-26 at the intermission and 48-35 after three periods.
