The Winslow Bulldogs avenged their only Enchantment Region loss of the year with a 76-62 victory over the Monument Valley Mustangs in Winslow on Friday. The victory allowed the Bulldogs to take sole possession of first place in the Enchantment Region with a 10-1 record. Winslow is 16-6 for the season. Monument Valley is still in the regional title chase with an 11-2 mark and has a 13-5 record for the season.
Winslow enjoyed a slight margin after each quarter, but trailed at some point in each of the first three periods. The advantage was 22-18 after the first period, 37-35 at the intermission and 48-47 after three quarters. A huge fourth period with numerous trips to the charity stripe allowed the Bulldogs to pull away at the end of the contest.
Bryan Curtis led all scorers with 33 points for the Bulldogs. Seth Davis and Evander Lee each scored 11 points for the victors and Stephen Hancock was also in double figures with 10 points.
Mitchell Emerson led Monument Valley with 22 points. Loren Walls was also in double figures for the Mustangs with 12 points.

The Winslow Lady Bulldogs clinched at least a tie for first place in the Enchantment Region with a 54-43 win over the Monument Valley Lady Mustangs in Winslow on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs boast a perfect 11-0 record in the Enchantment Region and a sparkling 19-4 record for the season. Monument Valley fell to 14-7 for the season and 6-5 in the region.
Kelly Willie led all scorers with 19 points for Winslow. Faith Carpenter was also in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points. Yvonne Lake paced Monument Valley with 11 points.
Monument Valley led 19-15 after the first period and still clung to a 26-25 advantage at the half. Winslow used a big third quarter to take a 41-32 advantage into the final period.
