Hopi Hi Cross Country Championship<br>

Polacca, Ariz. – The Hopi High School boys cross country team packed five runners into the top 15 to win the Cross Country Championship at Hopi High School Oct. 27.

Logan Koopee snagged second place to lead the Bruins to victory.

“It was something new because it was different teams than in the past. It was also good preparation for state, but I expected us to win because we have a good team and we stuck together,” he said.

Koopee said Hopi High became the best team in the 3A North by practicing and training hard, staying together when they ran and never giving up.

The other five top Hopi High runners were Roger Kisto, fifth; Stet Lomayestewa, sixth; Dellen Lomayestewa, 13th; and Matthew Honanie, 15th. Hopi won the boys race with 41 points,

Window Rock grabbed second with 49 points, Winslow took third with 74 points and Greyhills finished fourth with 106 points.
