Ermilio Castanon Jr.

Funeral services for Ermilio Castanon Jr. “Palillo” were held Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Greer’s Scott Mortuary Chapel. Pastor David Daffern officiated. Viewing was held on Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Greer’s Scott Mortuary. Interment was at Desert View Cemetery.

Ermilio Castanon passed away on June 11, 2001, in Payson, Ariz. He was born August 29, 1946, in Winslow, Ariz. He served his country in the Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He lived in California for 30 years, moving back to Winslow in 1988. He worked in Winslow at K-Mart, Basha’s and Giant.

His survivors include; his mother, Elsie Castanon of Winslow; sister, Lydia Flint of Winslow; sons, Christopher Castanon of Seattle, Wash. and Jay Gahr of Wynn, Ark.; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ermilio Castanon.

Arrangements were under the direction of Greer’s Scott Mortuary of Winslow.

Yolanda Montano Crouch

Yolanda Montano Crouch, age 53 of Las Vegas, Nev. Died June 12, 2001 in Winslow. She was born April 15, 1948, in Winslow. She attended school in Winslow and graduated from WHS. She worked for the Winslow Police Department for a few years before moving to Las Vegas in 1971. She went to work for Clark County Housing Authority, and then later worked as an Accountant for the State of Nevada. She was an artist and enjoyed painting in watercolor. Yolanda enjoyed her family and was the one in the family that kept everyone else up on the news.

She is survived by her husband, Larry L. Couch of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven stepchildren, 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Steven Montano of Winslow and Robert Montano of San Francisco, Calif.; five sisters, Gwen Valdiva, San Diego, Calif., Carolyn Gonzales, Holbrook, Toni Montano, Winslow, Terri Conwell and Margaret “Paco” Davis, Las Vegas; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial Funeral Mass was held June 15th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Daniel Hussey officiating.

The Norvel Owens Mortuary is directing arrangements.
