Tri County Meeting

The Tri County Meeting sponsored by the Navajo Nation Council Chamber will be held on Wednesday, January 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The topic of discussion will pertain to the Senate Appropriations meeting assignments and resolutions. Little League Meeting

Because of a rescheduled Warrior basketball game, the Little League meeting for prospective coaches, umpires and volunteer helpers for our Little League has been changed to Thursday, February 1 at 7:30 p.m. The next meeting will be held at Greyhills Academy High School in the classroom next to the gym (go in the main entrance). Film Presentation

On Feb.1 at 7 p.m. in the Cline Library Assembly Hall, the NAU Women’s Studies Program will present the film Black Women On: The Light, Dark Thang, which explores the politics of color within the African-American community. The film is free and open to the public.

Diné for Better Government

On February 2, the Diné for Better Government will be hosting a meeting at the Tuba City Chapter House from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The discussion will pertain to current and future issues concerning the Navajo Nation. For more information, contact Eddie Arthur at (520) 674-3614.

Benefit Dance

The Fenders will perform at a benefit dance for the Shonto Preparatory School eighth grade class on Feb. 3 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. The dance will be held at the school. $20 per couple; $15 single. Refreshments. For information, contact Marian Calamity at (520) 672-2652.

Llama Lecture

Learn about trekking on the Colorado Plateau with friendly furry llamas from Stewart Aitchison [pronounced “a-chin-son”] Saturday, February 3 at 2 p.m. in the Museum of Northern Arizona Branigar Hall. The lecture is free with regular museum admission. Call (520) 774-5213 for ticket information.

Dance Recital

Canyon Movement Company’s Dance Concerto IX “Hanging in the Balance” will be performed on February 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. in NAU’s Clifford White Theater. Donations accepted at the door: $10 general, $8 CMC members, $6 students. The dance looks at how we balance the various situations in our lives: intrapersonal, interpersonal, physical, and social. Rabies Clinic

The Coconino County Department of Health Services will hold a rabies clinic on February 3 from 1-4 p.m. at the Coconino Humane Association Shelter at 3501 E. Butler Ave. in Flagstaff. Rabies vaccines will be available for $6. The clinic will also offer other canine vaccines; fee information can be obtained by calling (520) 226-2717. Dog licenses and spay/neuter vouchers (a $30 value) will also be available at the clinic.
