School Board receives donations at year's end
The Winslow Unified School District Governing Board received the following requests to accept donations in December:
$1,000 to Winslow High School from Ames Brothers Ford-Mercury for the Ames Ford Shoot-Out Basketball Tournament;
$500 to Winslow High School from Davis Properties for the Winslow High School Hoop Club;
$300 to Winslow High School Wrestling Club from Arizona Industrial Hardware, Inc.;
$200 to Winslow High School Wrestling Club from John and Debra Breeze;
$53.97 to Winslow High School from the Target School Fund-raising Program to be given to the Student Council;
$500 to Winslow High School from Jimmy L. Cox for the Girls Winter Classic Basketball Tournament;
$50 to Winslow Junior High School from The Reminder for the attendance program;
$50 to Winslow Junior High School from Wal Mart for the attendance program;
$9 for empty ink- cartridges from Access Computer Products to Bonnie Brennan Elementary School;
$500 to Washington Elementary School from an anonymous donor to be used in the Reading is Fundamental Program;
$25 to Washington Elementary School from Office Depot under the "5% for Qualifying School" program; and
$375 to Jefferson School Carnival and Haunted House in cash donations from various sources.
In its Dec. meetings the Board also learned that Jefferson School had 100% attendance at its Open House. The Board approved a resolution to become a joint technological education school with Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology.
