Marie Caballero

Funeral services for Marie Caballero, 43, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, December 22 at the Maranatha Assembly of God Church. Interment followed at Desert View Cemetery.

Mrs. Caballero passed away on December 14 at Flagstaff Medical Center. She was born on May 2, 1957 in Winslow. She was also raised and attended school in Winslow. She was a caring person and loved to joke around. She loved being with family and friends.

She is survived by her mother Mary Rose Barton of Winslow; her husband, Richard Caballero of Winslow; three sons Marvin, Donovan and Roy Barton, all of Winslow; two daughters, Rebekah Caballero of Winslow and Donna Barton of Mesa; her brother, Robert Barton, Sr. of Mesa; her two sisters, Carol Wilson of Leupp and Fannie Benally of White Cone; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Eva Barton.

Greer's Scott Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.

Gilbert Crespin

Holy Rosary for Gilbert Crespin, 70, was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 20 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Dan Hussey officiating. Interment followed at Desert View Cemetery.

Gilbert Crespin passed away at his home on December 17. He was born on August 17, 1930 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He started to work at the age of 14 to support his brother and sisters because his father was ill. He worked his way up to a truck driver, driving tractors on farms where they lived.

He moved to California in 1956, He married his present wife Stella in 1972 in Long Beach, California, He was well liked in Winslow where he moved in 1992 after his retirement at the age of 62.

He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Stella; his sons, James, EuGene, Richard, and Ricky Crespin, all of California; his adopted son, Juan Crespin of Phoenix; and two step-sons Henry Montiel of Winslow and Ray Montiel of Tucson; his daughters, Flora Lynn Williamson and Patricia Stevens of California; his adopted daughters Hope Crespin of California and Lisa Anthony of Winslow; and his step-daughters Irene Villarreal of Winslow and Amanda Padilla of California; his brother, Sam Crespin of California; three sisters, Victoria Tafoya, Josie Young and Veronica Crespin, all of California; six grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two sons Ronald and Charles Crespin; his sister, Eleanor Alvarado and one nephew.

Greer's Scott Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
