Ralph Carl

Funeral Services for Ralph Sutumpi Carl, 85, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6 at the First Mesa Assembly of God Church in Polacca. Interment followed at Polacca Tewa Cemetery.

Ralph Carl passed away on June 3 in Prescott, at the VA Extended Care Facility. He was born on June 17, 1914 in Tewa Village, First Mesa.

His survivors include: wife, Sybil Talayumptewa Carl; sisters, Jennie C. Holtsoi and Vivian Muchvo; children, Wilfred, Winston and Elwin Carl of Polacca, Morris Paukgana of Scottsdale, Lucita Ortega, and Hattie, Carl of Polacca and Janice Carl/ Yazzie of Phoenix; 17 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and many aunts and cousins,

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Edwin Sewehomgva Carl and Hattie Carl; sons, Raven Carl and Newton Carl, Sr.

Greer's Scott Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.

Brian M. Johnson

Graveside services for Brian M. Johnson, 54, were held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 9 at Desert View Cemetery, with Father Dan Hussey was the celebrant.

Brian Johnson passed away on June 1, at his residence in Winslow. He was born on February 7, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. Brian graduated from South West High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He played the piano and French horn. His thirst for learning was never quenched.

He was always willing to help anyone in any manner he could. He was the president of the Winslow Alliance and had brought many people to our community through his web site, brianirish@cybertrails.com. He was a great man. Brian's mother and four uncles were originally from Luric, Switzerland and came to the United States in 1915.

His survivors include his girlfriend, Clarice Cummings of Winslow and family members, Cynthia Cummings and Amanda Cummings, both of Winslow.

Greer's Scott Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.

Palma Mora Miller

Palma Mora Miller, 27, passed away at her home in Flagstaff June 5. Palma was born September 18, 1972 in Flagstaff. She lived all her life in Flagstaff and attended Coconino High School. Palma married Michael Miller September 30, 1989. She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting collectibles. She enjoyed writing to people and had numerous pen palls throughout the world.

Visitation was Thursday June 8 from 10 a.m. until 1:45 p,m. at the Sunnyside Baptist Church in. Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday also at Sunnyside Baptist Church. Burial was in Citizens Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband Michael Miller of Flagstaff, father Vincent C. Mora of Flagstaff, brothers, Sonny Mora of Winslow and Armand Mora of Phoenix, sisters, Carmen Garcia of Phoenix, Mercy Guerrero of Flagstaff, Ruby Hernandez of Flagstaff, Margaret Zamora of Flagstaff and several nieces and nephews,

Norvel Owens Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.

Pelagio Gallegos

Memorial Mass for Pelagio Gallegos, 77, will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 15 at Madre de Dios Catholic Church with Father Dan Hussey as celebrant. Interment was previously held at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas.

Pelagio passed away May 20 at the Veterans Hospital in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. He was born November 26, 1922 in El Pueblo, New Mexico.

His survivors include: sister, Dora Ortiz of Winslow; daughters, Rose Quintana and Helen Wagner both of Winslow; and many nieces and nephews.
