Editor,

When it comes to veterans men and women who sacrificed their lives for their country, President Bush and Congress turns their backs on them.

If the administration and congress can allocate 40 billion dollars to fight the war on terrorism they can provide the funding for concurrent receipt for our retired/disabled military.

Nothing short of this is acceptable. For years the government has sent us our disability checks after taking it from our retirement checks it is time for this to stop.

They say there is no money if this is true then why did Congress give themselves a $12,00 pay raise back in October and why did they give the postal service billions in bail out money which is being used to pay their top exec’s millions in bonuses.

I receive $475 a month disability from the veterans administration I receive this after they take it from my retirement check that I spent 20 years in the service to earn.

If you are a congressman, senator or civil servant; ie: IRS, or post office, you draw both. Is this fair? Congress and the President think so.

Sincerely,

Raymond Adkins
