Editor,

I have heard that candidates, and would be candidates for political offices, were beating a path to McDonald’s house in Tuba, so on Dec. 6, I went there to see if this was true.

Wanda greeted me at the door and then summoned her husband. Mac came to the door and said, “You too?” while looking at the yellow pad in my hand.

“I heard you have been giving out free political advices, so I hurried here as fast as I could, “ I told him.

“Well, that’s true, but I have not been volunteering those advices,” he said.

He told me that candidates for political offices have been seeking his advices. “They ask me about the issues and how to address those issues, but my advice to them is to go out to the voters and find out what their main concerns are and those will then be the issues,” he said.

“What are the concerns expressed by the people,” I asked.

“Well, it used to be that livestocks, jobs, education and social welfare were the top concerns, but now, there are concerns about crimes, about tribal government, gaming and a host of new concerns,” he said.
