Bashas’ turns Tax Checks Into Cash For its Shoppers

Shopper’s tax refund checks will turn into cash when they use them to purchase Bashas’ groceries. From now through the end of September, Bashas’ will accept 2001 tax refund checks for grocery purchases completely free to shoppers. Proper photo identification will be needed to receive cash for the tax refund checks. Offer depends upon available funds at individual stores.

Monument Valley Requires Documents for Fall Students

Students planning to enroll at Monument Valley High School this fall are required to bring their birth certificate, a copy of their Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB), their updated immunization record, Social Security number and a transcript from the previous school. Freshmen enrolled after August must have a transcript from the previous school. All in-coming freshmen must have a physical. For more information call Liz at (520) 697-2188.

Health Enrollment for students at Kayenta Unified School District #27: Physical exams are required for preschool through kindergarten students, 3rd, 6th and 9th graders as well as all new students to the district or those with no physicals on file. All students must be up to date on their immunizations. Long and short health history and permission forms required for all returning students with none on file. Deadline for Coconino County Fair exhibits extended

The deadline for County residents to enter their arts and crafts, animals, flowers and other handiwork in the 52nd Annual Coconino County Fair has been extended to August 10 at 5 p.m. The deadline is being extended due to the late distribution of the premium books this year. Wood Carving Class

Dan Yazzie, Jr., Navajo, will offer a class in Fantastic Folk Art: Navajo Wood Carving. Sponsored by the Museum of Northern Arizona, the class is on August 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. Yazzie will also demonstrate his work on both August 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as the featured artist in the Museum’s Weekend Arts Demonstrations program. Navajo – Hopi to Host Statewide Campus Orientation

Students living on the Navajo Nation and Hopi Reservation can attend NAU classes without having to travel to its main campus in Flagstaff. A Student Orientation will be held August 15 and 22, and will be broadcast via Interactive Instructional Television from 3:30-5:30 (MST) in Chinle, Ft.
