Enchantment Preview
The Ganado Hornets (3-0) drubbed the Window Rock Scouts (0-3) 64-14 on Friday and continued their streak of scoring 50 points or more in each of the first three games of the season. the Hornets will host Tuba City (3-0) on Friday in an important Enchantment Region contest with play-off implications. The warriors nipped $a Page 32-26 in a non-conference contest on Friday.
The Winslow Bulldogs (201) completely outclassed the Pinon Eagles (0-2) 66-6 on Friday. The Bulldogs will journey to Kayenta on Friday to meet the Monument Valley Mustangs in another game with play-off implications. The Mustangs defeated the Greyhills Academy Knights 32-187 for their first regional victory.
The Window Rock Scouts will entertain the Gerbils Academy Knights on Friday.
The Pinon Eagles will host the Hopi Bruins in a non-conference contest on Friday.
Enchanment Region in Review
Tuba City Warriors
The Tuba City Warriors remained undefeated with a 32-24 victory over the 4A Page sand Devils in a non-conference football game played at Tuba City on Friday. The victory was the third for the warriors who will face their most formidable challenge when the also undefeated Ganado Hornets come to town on Friday.
The Warriors' star back Josh Allen accounted for four touchdowns and 234 yards rushing in the victory. Tuba City led all the way, but Page closed to within two points in the final period.
Tuba City will host the Ganado Hornets, 64-14 winners over Window Rock, on Friday;. The Hornets are 3-0 and have scored more than 50 points in each of their three wins. The game will Tuba City's first and probably most important Enchantment Region test.
Ganado 64, Window Rock 14
The Ganado Hornets ran their undefeated record to 3-0 with a 64-14 victory over the Window Rock Scouts (0-3) in an Enchantment Region football game poled at Ganado on Friday. The game was the first regional contest for both teams.
Ganado's Travis Johnson returned three Window Rock punts for touchdowns and scored another on a pass reception to lead the Hornets to victory. Quarterback Chris Semore was 14 for 20 passing for 185 yards for the Hornets. the game marked the third straight in which Ganado has scored more than 50 points in a contest.
The biggest test yet for the defending Enchantment Region champion Hornets will come on Friday when they journey to Tuba City to take on the also undefeated Warriors and their star runningback Josh Allen. The warriors defeated 4A Page 32-24 in a non-conference game on Friday and will be making their first appearance in league play.
Bulldogs 62 Pinon 6
The Winslow Bulldogs opened Enchantment Region play with a 62-6 drubbing of the outclassed Pinon Eagles in Winslow in Friday. The victory was the second in three outings for Winslow and the first regional contest for both teams. Pinon fell to 0-3.
Winslow cored 35 of its points in the first quarter and turned the game over to the reserves for the remainder of the contest. Pinon did no cross mid-field until the final series of the first half.
The Bulldogs will take on the Monument Valley Mustangs in Kayenta on Friday. Pinon will host the 2A Hopi Burins in a non-conference contest.
