WHS volleyball team <br>defeated Window Rock, lost to Tuba City<br>

The Winslow High School varsity volleyball team defeated Window Rock in a closely contested Enchantment Region match played on Sept. 14 at Window Rock before losing another regional match to Tuba City in Winslow on Sept. 19. The results left Winslow with a 5-2 record for the season and a 2-1 mark in the Enchantment Region.

The Winslow girls defeated the Window Rock Lady Scouts 15-10 in the first game of their set, but saw the host team win the second game by the same score. Winslow took the rubber game 16-14 to claim the match two games to one.

The first game between the Lady Bulldogs and the Tuba City Lady Warriors was a classic won by Tuba City 19-17. The Lady Warriors sprinted to a 9-4 lead only to see Winslow fight back to take a 10-9 lead. From that point the teams traded leads with Winslow having the first game point opportunity with a 15-14 lead. The Lady Bulldogs couldn't convert and Tuba City eventually took a thrilling 19-17 victory. The Lady Warriors rode their streak to a 15-4 win in the second game of the set and a two games to none victory in the match.
