Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament
On the week of Thanksgiving November 23-26, there will be a open men’s and women’s basketball Tournament at the Hopi Veterans Memorial Center on the Hopi Reservation. Entry fee is $125 per teams, which include a 12 team bracket with a 10 player roster. A $100 deposit must be turned in by Tuesday, November 14. For more information call (520) 734-6686.
Turkey Shoot Out
The Turkey Shootout Open men’s basketball tournament will be held on Friday-Sunday, November 24-26, at the Tuba City Community Center in Tuba City.
Entry fee is $150 for a 10 team roster. Awards will be given to First -fourth place.

Heart of the Parada
Come on down to the “Cowboy Cradle of the Southwest” to experience the country’s oldest junior sanctioned rodeo on November 25-26, at the Charlie Whitlow Rodeo Grounds located 4 miles south of Florence. The event attracts cowboys and cowgirls ages 5 to 18 who compete in everything from calf roping and bull dogging to barrel and pole racing. The most popular parade in Pinal County starts at 10 a.m. and there will be plenty of food vendors, arts and crafts and entertainment from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information contact the Florence Main Street Program at (520) 868-4496 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The Trot to Stop Abuse Fun Run will be held December 2 at 10 a.m. at the Laguna Creek Bridge, Kayenta. $8 registration fee. All age groups. Register now and receive a free T-shirt. For more information, call (520) 697-8591.
Run for Fitness
The 19th annual “Run for Fitness” is set for Saturday, December 9. The event consists of a 5K Run and Mile Walk to be held at the TCIMC Main Street Parking Lot. Start times: 9:30 a.m. Walk race; 10 a.m. 5K Race; 11 a.m. Awards & Recognition. Race fees are $8.00 on/before December 1 and $10 after December 1st. All age groups will be awarded prizes and all registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 5K overall winners.
