This accident occurred in broad daylight on Highway 87 just south of Airport Road on Friday. No one was hurt and neither of the two persons with the car claimed to be driving it at the time.
A city Department of Public Works truck was passing by and the two men began directing traffic. Officer Sarah Blanton arrived and began checking the scene and the passengers. There was a witness who began to fill out a form.
Blanton pulled her car out of the southbound lane and people with smiles over this situation began inching past.
This “accident without injury” ended up with a lot of resources employed to assure everyone’s safety: the City of Winslow truck which was first on the scene, two police cars and officers, two ambulances, and an ADOT crew who took over traffic control.
The real question of the day was how on earth could the car get perched like that?
