Mayor Jim Boles and council members Robert Mansell, Robin Boyd and Tom McCauley received their oaths of office from City Clerk Linda Samson. Boles, Mansell and Boyd were reelected to their positions while McCauley replaced Councilman Curtis Hardy who did not seek reelection.
Councilman Harold Soehner was appointed as vice-mayor by a unanimous vote of the new council in its first official action.
A proclamation was then adopted honoring Hardy for his long-time service to the city. Hardy served as a city councilman for 16 years, longer than any other person in the history of the city.
Following the meeting, a reception was held for family and friends of the council.
