Slow Pitch Softball

The Diamond and Dust Slowpitch Softball Co-ed Tournament will be held August 26-27 at the Gallup Sports Complex. Double Elimination. Awards. Entry fee:$175. Deposit of $100 due by August 4 and remaining balance due on August 18 to guarantee a spot. Bruin Football Camp

Hopi Jr./Sr. High School will hold its 3rd annual Hopi Bruin Football Camp, August 1-4 at the High School. The camp till be held from 3-7 p.m. each night and is offered to youth from 12-18 years old. Fee: $25 per player. The camp director will be Hopi High football coach James Roe. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt and instructions on the fundamentals of football. Arizona Cowpunchers Rodeo

On Friday-Sunday, August 4-6 and Tuesday, August 22 the Arizona Cowpunchers Reunion Association Rodeo will be held in Williams, Arizona with competitions beginning each day at 1 p.m. On Friday and Saturday evenings, there will be a dance held with music provided by the band, "Latigo." Admission to the rodeo is $5 for adults and $2 for those under 12 years of age.

Basketball Tournament

The Third Annual Summer "Wolfpack Classic Open Mens" basketball tournament will be held Friday-Sunday, August 11-13 at the Lobo High School Gym. Tournament entrance fee is $140, which must be paid in full, prior to the first game.

Weight Room

The Tuba City High School weight room is now open, Monday - Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., through August 11. Returning Fall sports athletes and incoming freshmen are encouraged to stop by. Each athlete will be placed on a Bigger, Faster and Stronger strength program.

Tuba City High School announces Fall sports practice

All Tuba City High School (TCHS) athletes interested in participating in Football, Volleyball, Boys & Girls Cross Country and Cheerleading for the 2000-01 school year need to sign up in the TCHS Athletic Office as soon as possible. Fall Sports Practice begins on Monday, August 7.

Returning TCHS athletes need to update their AIA files by returning a signed Health Questionnaire and parent permission/ consent forms. Incoming freshmen and transfer students must have current physical exam, birth certificate and parent permission/consent forms on file with the Athletic Office before they are eligible to practice. All forms can be picked-up at the Tuba City High School Athletic Department.

Sports Physicals

The Tuba City High School Athletic Department would like to inform incoming freshmen and new TCHS students that they need an updated Sports Physical for the 2000-2001 school year. A current Sports Physical Exam must be on file in the TCHS Athletic Office before an athlete is eligible to practice. Call the Tuba City Indian Medical Center at (520) 283-2501 to make an appointment. The Arizona Interscholastic Association, Inc. and Tuba City High School requires that the AIA Sports Physical Exam form be used. These can be picked up at TCHS. Volleyball High School Tryouts

Attention All high school girls interested in playing Volleyball for Flagstaff High School. Tryouts for sophomores, juniors and seniors will start Monday, August 7, twice a day, every weekday, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and again from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Freshmen tryouts will start on Wednesday, August 9, every week day from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Cost for tryouts is $5 and you MUST have completed a school physical. A Xerox copy of your birth certificate and a signed eligibility and conduct code form, signed by parents are also needed. All forms can be picked up in the front office at Flagstaff High School at (520) 773-8100.

27th Annual Louis Tewanima Footrace
