WINSLOW, Ariz. - The Winslow Harvey Girls played host to the Winslow Chamber of Commerce networking 7 a.m. coffee hour March 4. Harvey Girl Peggy Nelson outlined the group's mission, which consists of being ambassadors of good will for Winslow.

Group members dress in period Harvey Girl attire when the women worked in the Harvey House restaurants along the Santa Fe Railroad line. The Harvey chain began in the 1880's and operated into the mid 1940's.

Bob Hall, CEO of the Winslow Chamber of Commerce, puts on the gathering the first Wednesday of the month in the Winslow Visitors Center. Hall said there were about 230 chamber members. The yearly cost to be a member is based upon the number of employees the Winslow business has. The lowest yearly cost is $16.
