After sitting on the city of Winslow's to-do list for a number of years, city crews are working on Fleming Street to make it safer for traffic and pedestrians. McCauley Construction is working on the contract adding sidewalks, curbs and lighting to 3,600 linear feet of Fleming Street. The improvements begin at Winslow Indian Health Care Center, pass Winslow Crossings Apartments and Desert View Cemetery and end at Wilson Street. From Wilson Street, Fleming Street continues east with existing sidewalks. Previously, Fleming Street was bordered by dirt shoulders. Pedestrians use the street continuously.
