Bettman and Halpin performed Jan. 22 at the Winslow Tourism Center in the Hubbell Building to benefit Alice's Place domestic violence shelter. Stephanie Bettman is a writer, singer and fiddler. Luke Halpin is a master of guitar and mandolin, and is adept at fiddle and banjo as well. The duo performed a compelling set of songs for an hour. Besides the music, refreshments were served and a silent auction took place. Auction donors included Twin Arrows, Turquoise Room, Corner Feed and Tack, Tate's Auto Group, Captain Tony's Pizza and many more. Alice's Place has provided crisis intervention, a 90-day shelter program and complete support for those in need since 2000. More information is available at (928) 289-3003.
