Guest column: Thoughts on Thanksgiving

I look forward to Thanksgiving every year because there is a lot of good food and you get to spend time with your family.

I like Thanksgiving because you get to see your family members who don't live out on the Hopi Reservation and you get to spend time with them while they are out here. I like Thanksgiving because it's a time for family bonding and eating lots of delicious food. Thanksgiving means that you're thankful for the food that is served on that day, and mainly about family bonding time with your entire family and the family that you haven't seen in awhile.

I look forward to Thanksgiving because you get to get out of school for several days. But this year we only get three days. I think everyone likes Thanksgiving because all you can do is eat and eat.

I think family time is good during Thanksgiving because you are eating, laughing, playing family games, making use of outside spending time with each other, or just talking and having a special bond with all your family members.

During Thanksgiving, you can go and eat at other family members, relatives, or friends' houses and spend quality time with them and their family. Some other people will invite you to their house to eat.

I just like and look forward to Thanksgiving because I like spending time with my family and friends, but I mainly enjoy the food.
