WINSLOW, Ariz. - Interstate 40 east of Flagstaff is closed in both directions between Twin Arrows and Winslow (mileposts 219-252) because of strong winds and limited visibility, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

The agency does not know when the highway will reopen.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning until 7 p.m. Winds will likely increase from 30 mph this morning to 40-45 mph this afternoon, with gusts up to 55-65 mph. Forecasters expect high winds are expected from Seligman (mile 123) to the New Mexico state line.
