Registration under way at Winslow School District
Monday is the first day of school

WINSLOW, Ariz. - Registration is under way at Winslow School District. Students new to the district in grades 9-12 may pick up registration packets at the high school office. New student registration forms are also available online at

www.wusd1.org.

Students new to the district must bring immunization records and a birth certificate. Native American students should also bring a copy of their Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB).

New students should bring the completed packet back to the high school office as soon as possible.

Returning students will follow the schedule below to complete the registration process, which includes turning in completed registration forms; picking up a class schedule; and taking photographs for student identification cards.

Any required fees are to be paid and students will then pick up their books at the bookstore. It is suggested that all students pay a yearly fee of $30 for the "Student Academic/Activities" card, and $1 for their identification card so that high school clubs may participate in the extra-curricular tax credit program.

Seniors and juniors registered earlier this week. Registration continues through Friday. Sophomores can register 8-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. today; freshmen, 1-3 p.m. tomorrow and 8-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Friday. The bookstore will be open during registration hours through Friday. The high school will host an open house for students and their parents 5-7 p.m. Monday.

Winslow Junior High registration

Winslow Junior High School conducts open registration throughout the summer for students new to the district. New students should be registered by Friday. Students can visit the school to pick up schedules, obtain locker combinations and have student identification cards made.

Seventh grade students registered earlier this week. Eighth grade students can register 8-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. today. A parent meeting begins at 6 p.m. tomorrow with an open house following 6:30-8 p.m.

Elementary school registration

New elementary student registration packets are available through today 10 a.m.-12 and 1-2:30 p.m. The school nurse or nurse's assistant will be available that day to check immunization records 9 a.m.-noon at Bonnie Brennan Elementary; 1-3:30 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary; and 9 a.m.-noon at Washington Elementary. The elementary schools will host a "Meet the Teacher" activity for all students and their parents 1-3 p.m. Friday.
