UPPER MOENKOPI, Ariz. - Since last year, the Law and Order Committee of Upper Moenkopi Village has been very grateful for the presence of law enforcement in their community. Previously, officers would be dispatched from the Keams Canyon station. Responding to a call in the Moenkopi area often took hours.

Lately, however, there has been an officer assigned to both the upper and lower villages, which allows for a much quicker response. Jeremy King from the Law and Order Committee says, "We appreciate Hopi law enforcement officers for their continual support of the community and aid in patrolling the area. The officers were detailed to the Moenkopi area after residents voiced their concerns about law enforcement in the community."

Hopi Law enforcement was recognized at a Law and Order Day recognition event in November. Paul Sidney Sr. a longtime officer has participated in DARE activities in the community.

King noted, "As we approach the summer, the Law and Order Committee would like to remind everyone to respect and obey the laws as well as respect one another."
